Think about this for a moment:

Would you believe the COVID lockdown was actually five years ago? Feels like just yesterday, right?

Now, here’s another shocker—the Ebola outbreak was 10 years ago.

A whole decade.

Crazy, isn’t it?

Time moves fast, whether we realize it or not. And while we know time is our most valuable gift, we often live like we have an unlimited supply of it.

But here’s the truth: You don’t have time for everything. You only have time for the things you should be doing. And if you don’t prioritize those things, you’ll wake up one day and realize that time has quietly slipped through your fingers.

The Subtle Trap of Wasting Time

We live in a world where everything is fighting for our attention—social media, entertainment, distractions disguised as “opportunities.” But not everything truly deserves our time. In fact, most things don’t.

Many things have been designed to waste our time—and to do it in such a subtle way that we don’t even notice until it’s too late.

And because we think we have time, especially as young people, we tell ourselves things like:

“I’m still young; this is my time to enjoy life.”

“I still have time to figure things out.”

“I’ll start later.”

Then suddenly, five years are gone. Ten years are gone. And what do you have to show for it?

Now Is the Time—Not Later

The Bible makes it clear:

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV

“It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.” Lamentations 3:27 KJV

John Maxwell puts it this way:

“You either pay the price now and enjoy later, or enjoy now and pay later. Either way, you must pay the price.”

But now is the best time to start paying the price—because now is when you have the strength.

“The glory of young men is their strength…”Proverbs 20:29 KJV

But here’s the problem: The world—and the devil—wants you to waste that strength doing the wrong things.

They want you to burn your energy chasing empty pleasures, temporary highs, and meaningless distractions.

My Advice? Don’t Fall for It.

Don’t waste the strength you have now. Use it wisely. Pay the price. Build. Grow. Develop.

Because time is moving—whether you act or not.

The best time to start was yesterday. The second best time is NOW!
